Supporting Children with Disabilities: WCG International

The children of Frank Hobbs Elementary School in Victoria collaborated with sponsors, WCG, JobWave and Triumph Vocational Services volunteers to paint an orca for the BC Lions Society fundraiser Orcas in the City. “Wave of Hope” is one of 53 Orcas on display throughout the summer, to be auctioned off in November. All money raised will assist kids with disabilities

The children of Frank Hobbs Elementary School in Victoria bid a last goodbye to their Orca, Wave of Hope, before it goes on display as part of a public art fundraiser for the BC Lions Society’s operations for children with disabilities.

Students from Frank Hobbs Elementary show their own handprints to Darlene Bailey, Partner and Vice-President of Human Resources and Field Operations for JobWave and Triumph Services. Each child of the 300+ student population literally had a hand in its painting.

Surrounded by students, teachers and volunteers from JobWave and Triumph, Darlene Bailey dedicated the Orca to the memory of Cecily Quin, a beloved teacher at Frank Hobbs Elementary School. Ms. Bailey also donated $500 from WCG to the school to enhance the arts program.
