Dr. James Rae
President
James (Jim) Rae, PhD Economics, is a sought-after Economic Consultant to private companies and several governments internationally. As a visiting professor, he has lectured in Canada, the United States, France, China and Tanzania. From 1994 to 1996, Jim was a consultant on the development and implementation of Workplace-Based Training with the BC Ministry of Advanced Education, Training & Technology.
A Diversity of Experience
A former tenured faculty member at the University of British Columbia, Jim held the roles of Deputy Minister or Assistant Deputy Minister in the following BC government ministries: Finance, Economic Development, Tourism, Cabinet, Universities, and Science & Technology.
Jim headed the government team in projects that include Expo '86, North East Coal and the Bridge Movie Studio. In 1987, Jim became Executive Director of the TRIUMF-KAON project in Vancouver and successfully raised more than $220 million offshore for the project.
