Myrt Turner

Myrt Turner brought 20 years of experience in education, curriculum design, program planning and implementation and business management to her current role at WCG. Myrt originally began her journey with JobWave in 1999 as the head of a subcontracted service delivery partner – M. Turner & Associates, now run by her brother. In the summer of 2000, Myrt was recruited by Darlene Bailey to oversee JobWave operations in northern British Columbia.

Prior to opening her own business and then making the leap to joining the WCG team, Myrt was a high school history teacher and the off-campus coordinator of the UBC Native Indian Teacher Education Program (NITEP). Myrt taught the first and second year Student Teaching Course and did first year practicum supervision. Myrt also travelled extensively to reserves throughout Northern and Northwestern BC to recruit first year students; the same roads that she now travels for JobWave.

A graduate of Simon Fraser University, Myrt has a passion for reading, listening to music, travelling to faraway places and lifelong learning.
