R.A. (Bob) Skene, FCA, has an international reputation for economic development and business growth, particularly in the high-tech sector.
Bob was CEO of the Vancouver Island Advanced Technology Center (VIATeC) for ten years. He is also former CEO and CFO of Computel Systems Ltd. and Vice-President of Finance and Administration with BC Systems, a Crown Corporation responsible for providing data processing and software development services to all BC government ministries.
In 1983, the BC government elected to privatize BC Systems. Bob secured a facilities management contract to manage all of BC Systems' IBM data center operations and helped 120 BC Systems employees to transfer to HTS, an employee-owned private sector company.
Community Leadership
Bob is the Past Chancellor and Chair of the Board of Governors at Royal Roads University. He is a board member of the Victoria Airport Authority, and a former Director and Past President of the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce.
